Description
The School District of Phillips is searching for an athletic trainer or other trained medical professional to provide support to our student athletes. The trainer/medical professional will work on-site at school athletic events to provide emergency medical care. This person will work closely with student athletes, coaches, and parents to assess and evaluate a player’s injury at the athletic event. The ideal candidate would have medical training pursuant to their license or certification.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Not Limited to):
serve as the liaison between coaches, athletes, and parents
provide care to injured student-athletes in accordance with professional practice act guidelines
maintain adequate and accurate medical quality records on all injuries and rehabilitation procedures.
provide coaches and athletic director with a list of athletes medically not eligible to compete under district and state rules and regulations.
coordinate with the athletic director to provide athletic training services or medical support at all required athletic contests
work with the athletic director in maintaining all athletic training supplies and equipment, assisting with reorders when necessary
maintain consistent and on-time attendance required for the supervision and instruction of student-athletes

QUALIFICATIONS:
Certification or license in personal training, athletic training, or a related medical field
Familiarity with WIAA regulations and recommendations regarding concussions and sudden cardiac arrest
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Experience in the field of sports medicine helpful
Proof of medical liability and/or malpractice insurance
Acceptable background check required

HOURS: Schedule to be determined upon hire to coincide with scheduled school athletic events.
